April 22, 2011	Browse-by-Query for Java 0.8.0 is enhanced with a new "selection" keyword and other plug-in improvements that allow tighter integration between the UI and your queries. We also received word that BBQ has been used for research in the development of open-source projects. It was used to gather metrics on other open-source projects for a paper delivered at the Empirical Software Engineering and Measurement 2010 conference.
March 27, 2011	androidVNC Viewer now has pinch zoom, configuration data import/export, a new icon, and Hungarian and Chinese translations.
July 20, 2010	androidVNC Viewer now handles much larger screens with improved rendering, and gets a French translation thanks to Josue Saury.

December 20, 2009	Browse-by-Query is easier to build now. I've autoconf'ized the C++ parser generator it uses as well as the parsing library that goes into it.
December 16, 2009	androidVNC Viewer now supports zooming and a touch-only control scheme that uses gestures for functions that used to rely on buttons.
November 18, 2009	The VNC client androidVNC Viewer is becoming increasingly popular. It now supports more phones with different screen sizes (memory use is a problem) and different (non-touch) control schemes.

March 11, 2009	I've been working on the open-source VNC client for Android, Google's cell-phone OS. The last three releases represent the antlersoft branch, and make the software quite usable for a variety of applications. You can access your desktop from your phone, almost anywhere.
January 20, 2009	SQLiteGen is an Eclipse plugin to enhance Google's Android cellphone-OS development environment. It is a code generator that turns Java interfaces with a simple annotation into classes that easily and efficiently interact with the SQLite database in the Android environment.
November 12, 2008	Still plugging away at Browse-by-Query; worked the database design from the C# version into the Java version; this makes it faster and the footprint smaller.
February 19, 2008	The latest version of Browse-by-Query for C#/CIL supports a Visual Studio 2005 plugin, giving you click-and-go access to query results within the IDE.

October 7, 2007	I've been using emusicj as a download manager for the emusic service, and submitted a patch to support .emx files in addition to .emp files.
August 9, 2007	There is now a live demo page for Browse-by-Query, so you can run real queries against a substantial database without a download or install.
July 16, 2007	The antlersoft log of technical obscurities has begun; just a way for me to keep track of solutions to troublesome but obscure and unimportant technical problems with others' software.
July 11, 2007	0.5.4 of Browse-by-Query is out, with relational operators and a "static" filter. A tutorial chapter has been added to the manual.
March 25, 2007	There's a new release, 0.5.2 of Browse-by-Query with many improvements to the query language, the query engine, the database and the whole environment. The manual has details on the updated language.
August 3, 2006	Mars MOLA Viewer has many new features in its new release: a Mars clock shows the sun on the Martian landscape as it really appears now, or at the time of your choosing, and a bookmarking feature lets you save your favorite Martian places.
April 28, 2006	There's a new release of Browse-by-Query with some improvements to the query language; the manual has been updated accordingly.
March 14, 2006	There's a little Java Web Start maze generator up now. The printing will only work if you have Java 1.5+.
March 10, 2006	There's now a quick-start guide for Browse-by-Query, covering the Eclipse and JBuilder plugin and the standalone environment.
February 25, 2006	Browse-by-Query now has an Eclipse plugin. Create a new update site in Eclipse at http://browsebyquery.sourceforge.net/eclipse-site to get it.
December 1, 2005	Mars MOLA Viewer now supports Linux on amd64/x86_64 (Opteron) architectures. For now, you have to use the Blackdown Java, since the Sun Java currently doesn't support Web Start.

October 26, 2004	Updated the web pages for Mars MOLA Viewer to include more help information, particularly on configuring different browsers for Java Web Start.
September 1, 2004	Fixed some bugs in StdioTunnel that were found after release; specifically race conditions that hampered tunneling the IMAP protocol and the Acknowledge flag.
August 31, 2004	StdioTunnel is a command-line utility that lets you tunnel arbitrary TCP connections when all you have is command-line access.
April 19, 2004	Source code for Mars MOLA Viewer is now available here.
April 16, 2004	New release of Mars MOLA Viewer. The chief new feature of this release is adjustable vertical scale exaggeration. There have also been some small bug fixes and the help file has been updated.
April 1, 2004	Updated the World War 2 Online Allied Headquarters War Room to add the towns added with 1.12, update the maps used, and fix a few problems rendering maps and a bug that would timeout your connection to the AHC web site. Also updated Robot Reporter to produce reasonable text at the end of a campaign and at the start of a new one.
March 23, 2004	Updated the Dvarchive Plug-in for Xine and VideoLAN web page to reflect that DVArchive 3.0 is out.
February 18, 2004	Fixed some big bugs in Mars MOLA Viewer and made some enhancements as well. The Martian terrain is now displayed on the surface of a sphere, so there is a horizon correct for the camera altitude and scale remains correct even if you move the camera north or south a long distance. The following bugs were fixed: a crash bug on ATI and nVidia cards; some visual artifacts; sometimes you were unable to see the data in a file you just downloaded without restarting the program. Also, restarting the download of a file will work correctly. Note that the updated version will be downloaded automatically next time you start the program.
February 2, 2004	Updated Mars MOLA Viewer to add some features and fix a few bugs, most notably a bug that resulted in the data files being corrupt when a download was resumed. This corruption does not break the program but will result in terrain being displayed incorrectly. Resumed downloads now work properly; if you have data files that you downloaded with a resume, you can use the Redownload menu command to fix the problem.
January 29, 2004	Brand new version of my Mars terrain viewer is available in pre-release form. I'm still working on this but it is in usable form, and before I announce it widely I'd like to get feedback from the (presumably small) set of people who find out about it here.
January 12, 2004	There is a new release of the World War II Online War Room for the new year. Version 3.0 has many fixes and improvements: it uses gzip compression for much lower bandwidth consumption; it supports "unscheduled" plans that are not attached to a specific time; the copying of plans; assigning cities and maps to plans; and searching for plans by owner, city, unit and name. There is also internationalization support: if you are interested in translating the text in the War Room into your own language, drop me a line.
November 14, 2003	World War II Online now features Robot Reporter which looks at in-game events, does some mildly sophisticated relevance/association processing (including fuzzy logic), and comes up with an English narrative description. The WW2OL community seems quite happy with it.
October 6, 2003	I have updated the classwriter source package so that it is now possible to use it to edit methods that contain switch statement; previously it was unable to edit such methods for arcane reasons related to the layout of instructions within Java .class files. The source package also now includes a file, missing before, that is necessary to build it.
September 28, 2003	I have updated the VideoLAN plugin that lets you control video streaming from ReplayTVs with DVArchive so it works with VideoLAN 0.6.2. The previous version was only compatible only with VideoLAN 0.6.0; shortly after I released it, VideoLAN released 0.6.2, causing much aggravation to people who downloaded the latest VideoLAN and found that my plugin didn't work. If you have VideoLAN 0.6.2, or are interested in upgrading to 0.6.2 (video seems to be somewhat smoother), please get the new version of the plugin. I've also added some new instructions on the web page for using the VideoLAN keyboard commands to control the streaming.
